Backwoods Home Magazine Buy Now

I discovered this magazine after discovering that it was the home of one of my favorite writers, Claire Wolfe. Who would have thought that I'd find it to house another woman who would soon rival Ms. Wolfe for my affection- Jackie Clay? Every word either one of these two write- I'll read it. Maybe it isn't the greatest of literary quality, but hard headed straight shooting American women are always worth listening to. Feminists in the best sense of the word- hike up your britches and slaughter the cow themselves, feminists!

Massad Ayoob is the best technical writer on guns out there, end of story.

The editorial bent is supposedly conservative/libertarian, but I'd suggest that anti-authoritarian communitarian would be a more apt description. The mag doesn't truck much with the feds, but is big on neighbors. A very sensible approach.

I totally agree with the reviewer - good magazine if you can get it. I might even say great magazine.

It has been a nightmare to get my subscription even before the latest "delay". I didn't even get a note that it is being delayed - I had to write Seed and ask them where the heck my magazine is...

My advice - don't subscibe! Buy it at Barnes and Noble if you like the issue (if they ever have another issue).

This is a great magazine. I'm primarily an english rider but the articles and training information is great. My favorite part is the conformation where they show you 3 horses and explain why each horse is judged based on conformation criteria. Cheapest Preschool Playroom

My 4-year old son likes the magazine. However, the bookbinding is very poor and the paper seems too crisp. I've not had a single issue without broken and separated pages after use for just a day or two. At $4.5 an issue, it is also quite expensive. Highlight High Five seems a better value. Cheap Fit Pregnancy

Im 7 weeks pregnant and received a free issue of this magazine at the doctor's office. I found myself digging for the articles in between all the ads. I found tiny tidbits of "advice" sprinkled here and there but nothing new.

This magazine didnt offer anything uselful at all. It actually made me feel a little guilty for indulging in pizza this weekend. It doesn't provide encouragement or advice you haven't heard already. You are better off reading up on pregnancy on pregnancy and baby websites on the web.

I don't want to spend much time writing this review. But anyways...

OXM is a decent magazine, comparing Amazon's price to what you pay retail, is night and day. The magazine is "definitely" not worth $8-10 per issue. The $3 or less, that Amazon charges is about where it should be. But yeah, I can't really even say this magazine is worth $3 an issue. Purchase Vogue Knitting International

I buy this magazine at newspaper stands or knitting stores (present or past issues), and after perusing it I buy only the issue I find most interesting to me. It is a great magazine with great patterns and articles. I was just about to subscribe but after reading some of the subscribers reviews I've decided not to. First, no customer service, no way. Second, missing issues...and there's only four issues a year...no way.

This was cutting edge years ago, but lately the magazine is repeating itself with old information. The art work is great and so is some of the info if you never read one before.
