Where To Buy Cook's Country

I use a recipe from this magazine at least once a week. The 30 minute recipe card that come with each issue make easy dinners a snap. Although they take longer than 30 minutes to make most of the time, the ingredients are very basic and can be found at almost any grocery store and the directions are simple, and best of all, they are delicious! The recipes in the magazine are a little more involved, but SO worth it. The Test Kitchen does a superb job of making the right dish every time. I love the discussion of how they arrived at the recipe they are publishing and which brands of products they used, or recommend. I feel like I really know more about the dish after reading their articles. One of the first sections has suggestions for kitchen short cuts, and most of them have come in handy. The product reviews they do are great as well. I have never been disappointed with a recipe or and issue of this magazine and plan on subscribing always.Get more detail about Cook's Country.

American Baby (1-year)

I read several baby magazines and this by far was my favorite. Especially for the first time mothers. There's lots of questions during baby's first year of life and this magazine specifically addresses that age! It's a great gift to give to first time parents as well. Yankee Review

My 2-star rating is for the subscription provider, not the magazine itself. I bought a subscription as a gift for a friend, and couldn't find, on the form, how to have it shipped to someone else. A few weeks later, I received a postcard confirming the subscription and contacted the customer service number on the card to provide my friend's name and address. However, the first 2 issues were still shipped to me, rather than to my friend. When I contacted the publisher directly, they took care of the problem right away. That's the last time I order a magazine subscription through a third party. Next time, I'll go straight to the magazine's Web site!Get more detail about Yankee.

Weekly Standard Immediately

My husband and I have gotten so disgusted with Time magazine and Newsweek that we're delighted to have a magazine like The Weekly Standard available. USNews and World Report at least attempted to be more objective but now it's published in print form only once a month. For our money, The Weekly Standard, with its incisive articles, stands head and shoulders above all the rest of them. Kudos to the staff. We'll not renew any other news magazine subscriptions.Get more detail about Weekly Standard.

Disney's Princess Best Quality

My 3 year old loves this magazine! I dont know if its because its princess (her favorite) or the fact she gets something in the mail with her name on it (and she knows its her name which just makes her day). Its a bit pricey, but good quality.Get more detail about Disney's Princess.

Alternative Press Magazine Get it now!

While I listen to many of the bands AP covers, actually trying to read this magazine is exhausting. Their articles are short, never very informative, and usually consist of bands talking about other bands (Our influences are...). Also, they review what seems like hundreds of albums per issue, so each one only gets two sentences of space. Had a subscription for two years, but just can't force myself to slog through this magazine anymore. Get more detail about Alternative Press Magazine.

Penthouse Letters (1-year) Order Now

I never though this would happen to me......

I love this magazine. Not only because of the slick layouts, the great eye-candy, and willingness of the publisher to use models who don't have fake breasts, but for another reason entirely: I've had one of my experiences/stories published in this magazine a few years ago. I added enough tidbits about me and my sweetie to give my friends (who know both me and my GF) proof that I actually submitted the material.

I am sure that many of the stories are bogus, but not all of them are. I guess in some way that is journalistic integrity.

Print: America's Graphic Design Magazine (1-year) Decide Now

I took out a subscription on May 20, 2008 and I am yet to receive a single copy. Not 1. I called the company handling the subscriptions and I got a "Very helpful" response of they can't understand why as according to their records it was sent. What I don't understand is that I'm receiving other subscription issues just not PRINT... and they had the gall to ask me if I wanted to take out another subscription since this one is almost up. Can you believe that??? I'm very hesitant to order HOW....which might mean throwing good money after bad.

Reminisce Magazine Right now

As with most magazine subscriptions, it takes a while to start receiving and as of yet, it hasn't started coming.
Main problem, which is my fault, I should have ordered direct through the card in the magazine itself. I paid quite a bit more for the subscription than if I'd gone direct.Get more detail about Reminisce Magazine.

Lowest Price Golf Tips

If you are the type of golfer who wants to improve your putting, your swing, your choice of equipment, or anything else golf related, then Golf Tips is the magazine for you. This magazine, unlike other golf publications, dedicates almost all of its pages to improvement. Most every golfer wants to get better over time, and Golf Tips is one of the few publications available that focuses all of its contents on self improvement.

As far as the advice goes, Golf Tips is a good magazine and it tries to cover several different aspects of the game in the same issue, so readers can find a relevant article that relates to their own problems. Maybe your problem area is putting. If it is, there is likely a putting article someone in the current issue. Another person might be having trouble perfecting his/her swing and if so, there are plenty of helpful articles that include diagrams so readers will know exactly what to do.

Other magazines include diagrams to illustrate proper maneuvering of the hands and body when swinging a golf club but Golf Tips takes this a step further. It includes not only picture depicting the right way to do it, there are also pictures showing what not to do. With some of these, Golf Tips will make sure the casual reader knows which photo depicts the wrong way to swing by showing a red circle with a line through it (same symbol seen on certain traffic signs), superimposed over the picture. With an illustration like this, there will be no doubt in the golfer's mind what he/she is not supposed to do.

Overall, Golf Tips is a good magazine for someone whose primary interest is improving his/her game. There are other magazines that include some instruction on the game, but Golf Tips concentrates most all of its pages in this area. I prefer a more balanced golf magazine like Golf Digest but I can see how Golf Tips could come in handy. The advice is written like a pro, and it covers something about many different problems in each and every issue.

Low Price Fine Gardening

I read all the reviews especially the earlier ones saying how wonderful the expert advice is. It must have changed since those reviews were written. I started receiving editions a few months ago.

The photos are still beautiful and it has good tips from users; but I found errors that even I recognize and I am no expert. Wrong names for plants, misspellings... but what disappoints me the most is the content seems to be 'crowd sourced,' largely from readers and not so much from experts.

I want to learn about plants that I didn't know about for different seasons and conditions, so I was surprised that it did not have a section for plants that are in season for the West (California), but covers the rest of the country in some detail: Southwest, Rocky Mountains, Southern Plains, Northern Plains, Mid-West, Southeast, Northeast. What happened to West and Northwest?

I found the ads interesting and they give me ideas to decorate my garden elegantly, although having checked some of the vendors, their prices seem high. Maybe they're targeting designers?Get more detail about Fine Gardening.

Cheapest Fine Woodworking

I have been a subscriber since the premier issue in 1975. Back then my workshop was a 4 by 8 foot room in front of my carport and my only power tool was an electric drill. The second issue prompted me to make my first hand cut dovetails. The main benefit I still get out of the magazine is it gives me the confidence to try new projects that demand new skills. While I buy Woodwork regularly, and occasionally other magazines at the news stand, Fine Woodworking is the only magazine I subscribe to year after year.Get more detail about Fine Woodworking.
