US News has been transformed from a weekly general news magazine into a monthly magazine with each edition focused on a specific theme. I have found this shift to be mostly negative for the readers and would not recommend this magazine.
In the switch from a weekly magazine to a monthly magazine, I expected an increase in the quality of the articles. However, I found the improvement to be only marginally better. This most recent move was a cost cutting decision that benefited only the owners of the magazine and not the readers. I feel largely cheated since I paid for a weekly magazine and have been left with a monthly magazine that has become irrelevant to me.
With each issue focused on a specific theme, I have found the issues largely hit or miss. For example, the most recent issue focused on retirement. Personally, I am not interested in reading about locations to retire.
The only thing left, that is good about US News is their rankings into Hospitals, Healthcare, and Colleges that provide readers insight and advice into the best healthcare plans, or college to adopt. Get more detail about U.S. News & World Report.
