I have read 10-12 alternatives over the years. This is clearly the best. Hands down. Why?

Some alternatives which I subscribed to for years were useless. I rarely ever used a Gourmet recipe.

Fitness (1-year) Decide Now

I have read Fitness for several years. I find it is quite motivational - it keeps me on track with exercising and diet. While I agree with some of the other reviewers on this site that Fitness sometimes touts extremes of diet and exercise, I think for the most part the articles give a reasonable regimen for the average person. I have been pleasantly suprised to see a change, lately, in the weight and body shapes of the fitness models. The last couple of issues have included some models with a more realistic shape. In addition, the editor's note at the beginning of the last issue put out a call for 40 and over women to send in their success stories. Most 40 and overs, like myself, have a harder time getting big results - I would like to hear from some of these women who have succeeded.
I understand that all women's bodies do not react to diet in the same way. Therefore, one diet plan will not work for all - however, I did find a diet plan that was great for me several years back in Fitness. This magazine is a complete waste. I am somehow receiving a free subsciption or I would never even look at this piece of junk. It takes me less than 5 minutes to "read" the whole thing. Save Teen Vogue (2-year)

This magazine is SUPER cheap. I paid $10 for TWO YEARS of this magazine.

pros: no wallflowers here. This magazine is different. I have seen the evolution of this mag since the first issue and so glad they got rid of the gossip section. My favorite part is the DIY clothing transformation. The spreads have also been super saturated lately. The size is super cute and handy.

cons: no one would wear this stuff. The ads and the strange combinations of clothing articles contrast greatly. They make those poor girls wear the strangest things. I suspect some of the pairings are completely random and last minute. The writing is very simple. The articles are a rehash of teen issues that have been going on for decades. Vogue articles, on the other hand, are delicious to read.

I am 22 and I feel like I had outgrown the magazine. I am not sure which magazine to move on to, if at all. It was a cheap fun surprise each month while it lasted.Get more detail about Teen Vogue (2-year).

Cheapest Ranger Rick

This is a wonderful magazine with NO advertising of commercial products. All our kids like to look at this magazine, it has Real photos, and keeps the interest of the older kids (8-10-12) It's not gender specific, my girls and boys both like it. Big Back Yard is good too, but better for the 4-8 year old set. Ranger Rick is great for independent readers. Cheap Newsweek

I have long been a subscriber of Newsweek. But this passed year they have made changes which I find unacceptable. Every so often they call an issue a "double issue". The pages are about the same as single issue. Nothing in the double issue justifies it to be called a double issue. It only means we receive less issues for our money. Speaking of money. Newsweek has now doubled the price of the subscription of just one year ago when I had renewed for, $19.95.
The magazine itself has almost no news or pictures of the "news of the week" The magazine is comprised mostly of commentary's and issues of our time. This might work for you if your in the mood for a little deep thinking. But this new, "Newsweek" is not for those wanting the News of the Week.

Regarding PC there is so much info on net but problem is reliability and from where to start because of new generation of pc ,games,LCD era.Things are much changed then days of simple pentium and ATI video card.I did research before i decided to go with Maximum Pc.Other magazines in same categories are full of advertisements and when you have so much advertisement then offcourse reviews become biased favoring sponsors.Maximum PC also have adds but thet are not many and mainly of PC Sellers rather then indiviual products.
